On August 4, 2026, American Public University System combined with Rasmussen University and Hondros College of Nursing to form a single higher education institution. American Public University System (the System) now includes American Public University, American Military University, Rasmussen University, and Hondros College of Nursing. The System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Public Education, Inc. (APEI). We are continuing to update our website to reflect our new structure.

Revocation or Denial of Degree 

American Military Universityawards academic credit, certificates, and degrees to recognize that a student has met all academicandinstitutionalrequirements in place at the time of award. In rare circumstances, the University may deny or revoke academic credit, a certificate, or a degree if it is later determined that these requirements were not met or if new information becomesavailablethat would have affected the original decision. 

Reasons for Denial orRevocation 

Denial orrevocationis uncommon but may occur for reasons including, but not limited to: 

  • Administrative or academic error 
  • Fraud, misrepresentation, or falsification of records 
  • Violationof UniversityPolicesthat are serious enough that, had they been known earlier, the academic credit or credential would not have been awarded
