On August 4, 2026, American Public University System combined with Rasmussen University and Hondros College of Nursing to form a single higher education institution. American Public University System (the System) now includes American Public University, American Military University, Rasmussen University, and Hondros College of Nursing. The System is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Public Education, Inc. (APEI). CareerLink Community

The university community houses multiple opportunities to connect, grow, and thrive. Students have access to a job board, community directory, resource center, opportunities to get involved, events, and mentoring within the CareerLink Community.

This space provides a way for our community to stay in contact with their peers, faculty, and university staff—both during and after courses are complete! 

Participation

CareerLink is open to certificate and degree-seeking students who have started their first course at AMU and to all degree and certificate holding alumni at our university system.

Profile

When entering the CareerLink Community, navigate to the ecampus portal and click Directory (top navigation). The following information is built into the profile automatically and will update each time CareerLink is accessed based on the most up to date information from within the student record:

  • First and Last Name (this can be updated in CareerLink, under profile settings)
  • Degree Level
  • Degree Name

Users should complete user profile by filling in specific details that they feel comfortable sharing. Consider adding professional contact information or interest-based activities to allow others to find users in a search.

*Users are not required to share personal information

Users become searchable by others (to include recruiters) once a profile is created. At that point, users may be contacted by recruiters.

Community Guidelines 

CareerLink access may be revoked if the student is:

  • No longer active with the university through disenrollment* or dismissal;
  • Failing to adhere to the Code of Conduct and/or Harassment, Discrimination, and Retaliation Policy within the Student Handbook;
  • Violates any university policy related to Academic Integrity

 

*Alumni who enroll for a subsequent program, but then disenroll, will still have access to CareerLink as alumni status grants lifetime access.
